Members Only Event (co hosted with IBM): Blockchain – Strongurl Blunch

June 28 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Member Event (co hosted with IBM featuring Strongurl BLunch): Blockchain – Good or Bad Technology? Are We Doing Harm While Doing Good?

Have you heard Facebook came out with their own cryptocurrency and DLT, Libra? And bitcoin surpassed $10k today for the first time since early 2018. The blockchain space is more active than ever and along with that, also more complicated than ever. Most will not argue that crypto has now mass mainstream awareness and investment. But with all of this re-ignited fervor have we asked ourselves why we are a part of this blockchain effort? Is it to help democratize the world? Is it to empower the individuals and most vulnerable? Is it to make money and get rich or richer? Whatever it may be,are we doing it right? Let’s pause and talk through our actions and the impacts of this technology – all the good and potential harm.

Kelcey Gosserand, Program Director – Developer Advocacy North America of IBM and Karen Ottoni, Director of Ecosystem at Hyperledger will be joining Jamie Moy, Founder of Strongurl in this conversation. Here are the details:
