About this Event

Tech is one of the fastest growing and most lucrative industries and presents opportunity for unemployed and underemployed New Yorkers to gain meaningful careers. According to the Department of Labor, there will be nearly 1.5 million computer science related jobs in the next two years and only 400,000 qualified candidates.

As part of NYC Blockchain Center Diversity and Inclusiveness Initiative, we will be highlighting various projects in the city working on providing educational programs and resources for low income and minority candidates. Come join us for the information session about Pursuit, a Queens-based non-profit organization that is helping to diversify the tech field by training low-income New Yorkers to become web developers.

Attendees of the seminar will hear about the program’s benefits and success stories and learn how to successfully apply for the Pursuit Fellowship.

This info session is geared toward potential applicants, but industry professionals who are interested in volunteering with NYC Blockchain Center or Pursuit are welcome to attend as well.

Eligibility requirements to apply for Pursuit Fellowship are:

18 or older

Black, Latino, Female and Immigrant candidates are encouraged to apply

Committed to working as a full-stack or mobile developer after graduating

Annual salary of no more than $45,000

A resident of the New York metropolitan area

Eligible to work in the United States

Able to participate in all scheduled program classes, workshops, and program events for the full duration of the program (10 months)
